OFFICERS’ DRESS REGULATIONS

1905

1. KHAKI SERGE FROCK. (FULL DRESS).

(a) BODY. New green Khaki Serge, cut full in chest with patrol shaped back and side bodies, slits at sides, no waist band, five large regimental silver-plated buttons down the front.
Two breast patch pockets outside, 6½ inches wide, 8½ inches deep from top of flap, cut square at corners, top edge of pocket in line with second button, a three-pointed flap with one small regimental silver button and bole ; box pleat 1½ inches wide down centre of pocket.
Two outside patch pockets below, cut square at corners with expanding sides, seven inches wide at top, eight inches wide at bottom, nine inches deep from top of flap ; no box pleat. Square cut flap, inches deep. No button or button hole. Top corner of flap 2 ¼ inches from centre of lowest button.
(b) SHOULDER CORDS. Shoulder cords of two lines of khaki and white combination braid half-inch wide, plaited, forming 7 loose plaits and one square loop at top, width over all 1¼ inches, and fastened with small silver-plated regimental button at top. No badges of rank or regimental badges on shoulder cords.
(c) COLLAR. Stand and fall collar of same material as body, 2½ inches fall in front and two inches at the back, fastened with two hooks and eyes ; collar edged all round front and lower side with one line of Khaki and white combination braid half-inch wide, with one line of white tracing braid three-sixteenths of an inch wide inside or above and touching the other braid : regimental collar badges in silver.
(d) CUFFS. Flap on each sleeve of same material as body, 2½ inches wide at points, six inches long, edged round three sides with Khaki and White combination braid half-inch wide ; embroidered badges of rank on flap in White, picked out with Khaki. Rings round sleeve in centre of flap according to rank, of Khaki and White combination braid half-inch wide and half-an-inch between rings, with a line of white tracing braid three-tenths of an inch wide between rings.

Colonel 4 lines of braid and 5 lines of tracing, with crown and 2 stars.
Lt.-Colonel 3 lines of braid and 4 lines of tracing, with crown and I star.
Major 3 lines of braid and 2 lines of tracing, with crown.
Captain 2 lines of braid with 3 stars, no tracing.
Lieutenant 1 line of braid with 2 stars, no tracing.
Second Lieutenant 1 line of braid with 1 star, no tracing.
The Khaki and White combination braid is obtainable from Huntsman and Sons, 41, Albemarle Street.

2. KHAKI SERGE FROCK. (UNDRESS OR SERVICE).

(a) BODY. Of same material and shape as Full Dress Khaki Frock with large silver-plated regimental
buttons.
(b) SHOULDER CORDS. Small plaited brown and khaki shoulder cords of regulation service pattern, fastened with small silver-plated regimental button.
(c) COLLAR Same as Full Dress Khaki Frock, but without braid ; collar badges in silver.
(d) CUFFS. Same as on Full Dress Khaki Frock, but with brown and khaki regulation braid and badges of rank.
NOTE.—The Full Dress Khaki Serge Frock is convertible into the Undress Khaki Serge Frock by changing the braid, badges of rank and shoulder cords from khaki and white to brown and khaki.

3. KHAKI SERGE TROUSERS. (OPTIONAL).

Of same material as Khaki Serge Frock, no braid or piping.

4. KHAKI CORD BREECHES.

New Regulation Khaki Bedford Cord, buttoned at knee, no braid or piping.

5. BLUE SERGE FROCK.

(a) BODY. Dark blue serge, similar in shape to Full Dress Khaki Serge. No braiding.
(b) SHOULDER CORDS. Shoulder cords of two lines of square white cotton cord quarter-inch in diameter {not twisted), with small silver regimental button at top. Miniature badges of rank in gilt metal.
(c) COLLAR. Stand up collar, of same material and colour as frock, fastened with two hooks. Collar badges in silver, placed one and three-eighths of an inch from front edge of collar. No braiding. White linen collar will be worn, showing one-eighth of an inch. 9
(d) CUFFS. NO cuffs, no braiding-, or buttons.

6. MESS JACKET.

(a) BODY. Dark blue cloth, no piping or braid. No buttons on front of jacket.
(b) SHOULDER CORDS. TW0 lines of round white cotton cord ¼in. diameter, twisted, with miniature badges of rank in gilt metal and small gilt regimental button at top.
(c) COLLAR. Rolled collar of white cloth, with regimental badge in silver on each collar roll; top of badge to be five or six inches from shoulder seam.
(d) CUFF. Pointed cuff of same material and colour-as body, four inches deep at point, and two and a half inches behind, edged round with flat white mohair braid three-tenths of an inch wide, forming a crows foot at point. Top of crows foot to be six inches from bottom of cuff, loops of crows foot to be 2½in. across. Two small gilt regimental buttons on each cuff.

7. MESS WAISTCOAT.

White cloth or white marcella washing open waistcoat, single breasted, no lapels, fastened with four small gilt regimental buttons ; no piping or braid.

8. MESS OVERALLS.

Dark blue with single stripe of white mohair braid, one and three quarters of an inch wide, oak leaf pattern, down each side seam.

NOTE.—Black silk tie will be worn at Mess.
